Welcome to Our Nursery

Baby Room

Our baby room has been renovated to provide more space for the babies to explore and have an enabling environment, with a very homely place to be and learn in. Again, we use natural real objects in which they become familiar with those babies become more mobile and independent. Within the room we can cater for 15 children of 0- 2 at any one time with the staff to child ratio 1:3

Babies love to explore and experiment through a variety of sensory play and play experiences.

  • We provide a variety of natural objects, materials, and music to stimulate and engage, as well as relax and calm the children.
  • We provide treasure baskets aimed at children between 3 and 10 months and heuristic (exploratory) play aimed at children between 10 months and 2 years
  • Children enjoy messy play activities throughout the day from painting and drawing to slashing in bubbly water and playing in sand.
  • Children can access the garden area throughout the day and ensure it is at least once in the morning and afternoon. The outside area is an extension of the toddler room and we provide outdoor equipment, messy play, and various activities to explore dally. (please see Outside area)

Mealtimes

Children all eat together with toddlers in low level or highchairs catered for babies, from weaning to eating with a plate, fork, and spoon.

First Day at Nursey

On your first settling in session, the staff will talk to you about any likes or dislikes you child may have. The staff in the baby room work very closely wvith you, we do not want to change your routine which you have at home, we want to know exactly how you would like your baby’s time (where possible) spent. We would discuss with you your child’s dietary requirements, their sleep needs and anything that you feel would help the staff, dedicated to look after your child while at nursery, butld up a better picture of your baby’s needs. We are very keen on getting your baby’s emotional development right in nursery. We feel that this is very important for babies, so when they get to know new people, they feel secure and they would start to build up those attachments with staff. Getting to know us, is probably the fırst time they have left their parents. We would not expect a baby to be brave enough or confident enough to venture out and play, until we have provided, one to one nurturing and build

up their confidence in us.

Communication with parents

We really encourage parents to call us on the phone. If you are at work or you are worried, or you just want to know how your child is getting on in nursery, we are always here to discuss your child and how they are getting on at nursey. We have an open-door policy, no question is a bad question to ask. we are just here to help you and your chıld settle into nursery happıly.

Transitioning

When your child becomes more confident and steadily mobile, we will start transitions into toddler room. When your child is showing signs of becoming more independent and developmentally ready to progress in their learning. This is when we would arrange a Parent meeting alongside their key person, to discuss the transitions into the toddler roorn
